ABOUT ME
You can say I’m a bit of a hat collector, without the hats. Let me explain. From farming to finance, from fishing to Midwest Fixer, I have done it all.
I was raised in Northwest Ohio just miles from Lake Erie. I enjoyed riding horses, fishing, and following around my grandparents. My grandfather jump-started my work ethic by taking me on Saturday mornings to the John Deere Dealership that his grandfather began in 1918.
I earned $5 to sweep the shop floor, but learned invaluable lessons along the way that developed my love for entrepreneurship. I graduated from the University of Toledo in Entrepreneurship for Family and Small Business. I prided myself on graduating in 3 ½ years, with honors, so I could finish one semester in front of my older brother, making me the first college graduate in my family.
Here’s where it gets interesting.
- Obtained my Series 6 license and became a registered representative at the age of 21, the youngest in the company’s history.
- Planned and executed nearly 100 weddings and events. (100 bridezillas = 1 godzilla)
- Became a USCG 50 ton Master Captain and lived my dream of fishing Lake Erie as a profession.
- Created AMI Coastal Tours (dolphin and sightseeing business) on Anna Maria Island
I fell in love with my husband and became a wife and mother (my most important hat). We moved to St. Pete from Lakewood Ranch, Florida after COVID rerouted our lives. Determined to pass the skills I have learned in life to my daughter, and any one else who needs it, I have formed Midwest Fixer, LLC. But enough about me…
